Duties

Help
  • Evaluates and recommends Improvements for quality control requirements related to design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.
  • Serves as lead subject matter expert on assessing the Implementation of Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Serves as the lead subject matter expert in the Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation CIGIE Blue Book.
  • Advises assessment team regarding quality assurance issues related to design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.
  • Provides oversight of government performed compliance to requirements related to design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.
  • Analyzes statistical data related to design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.
  • Leads and coordinates International Organization for Standardization (ISO) assessments at government and contractor facilities
  • Advises contractors of deficiencies and monitors corrective action related to design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.
  • Reviews statements of work to identify quality and technical requirements of design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.
  • Formulates written reports, work papers, and technical white papers related to the quality and technical requirements of design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs.

  • Position has been designated as Noncritical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with Department of Defense (DoD OIG).
  • Organizational entities with the DoD are not required to conduct drug testing for DoD civilian employees moving by transfer or reassignment from one DoD Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another TDP with no break in service within the DoD, unless
  • The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.
  • If you have not previously successfully completed a probationary period with the federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You must have 52 weeks of experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. This experience will include comprehensive knowledge of quality control methods, principles and practices related to design, manufacturing, production testing, and quality of DoD Programs to evaluate contractor conformance to quality requirements. Completion of SAE AS9100 Lead Auditor Course and intimate knowledge of ISO9000/9001.
