Help

This position is responsible for developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies, and developing comprehensive communications for appropriate audiences at Naval Base Kitsap.   Incumbent works with the region Marketing staff to develop and disseminate regional marketing/communications ensuring consistency in various marketing campaigns and promotional material Region wide.  Responsibilities include writing, editing for print and digital/electronic/social media, photography, event and program marketing, market research, and planning, executing and evaluating marketing and communication programs.  Acts as liaison between a variety of programs/facilities and the regional Service Center.  Must provide excellent customer service and build service into daily work.  Handles administrative duties such as maintaining calendars, research, publicity requests, tracking work, writing advertising copy/articles, preparing newsletters/emails, managing social media, etc.  Keeps current with real world marketing trends and should be experienced in managing social media, email campaigns and online survey tools.    May be required to work periodically at various NW installations in addition to their assigned location.  Represents Fleet and Family Readiness Programs as primary person at Welcome Aboard, Indoctrinations, meetings held by military and civilian representatives, i.e. ombudsmen, department, information fairs.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations or related field, one year marketing experience and knowledge of Navy Fleet and Family Readiness required, OR a minimum of three years work experience in marketing is required without a degree. Demonstrated knowledge of marketing principles, methods, practices and techniques is required.  Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to display outstanding customer service. Must have skills in gathering and organizing information, developing/implementing marketing/promotional strategies, writing and editing for both print and electronic/social media. Experience with online survey development, email marketing, content marketing, major social media platforms and focus group research.
