Duties

Help

Duties as an Acquisition Specialist include but are not limited to:

  • Manages a variety of acquisition and procurement actions for specialized equipment, supplies and services
  • Manage and Administers invoice and payment functions for goods and services procured through the procurement and acquisition process for awarded contracts
  • Serves as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) on assigned procurements and contracts
  • Coordinates with customers to develop acquisition requirement documentation and support contract actions with appropriate program/project managers and contracting support centers
  • Perform duties associated with management of the agency GPC program (Billing Official)

Other Requirements:
Obtain required Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act DAWAI certification levels.

Permanent Change of Duty (PCS-Relocation) expenses will not be paid.
Position has been designated as Noncritical Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
If you have not previously successfully completed a probationary period with the federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with Department of Defense (DoD) OIG. Organizational entities with the DoD are not required to conduct drug testing for DoD civilian employees moving by transfer or reassignment from one DoD Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another TDP with no break in service within the DoD, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis by the gaining Component.
The incumbent must adhere to the DoD Standards of Conduct.
Military retirees seeking to enter civil service in the Department of Defense now require a waiver if they are within 180 days following their official date of retirement (5 United States Code 3326.).

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level in the federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as:Assessing procurement activities, acquisition business processes customer service, and other acquisition program areas; and performing procurement actions within acquisition regulations to support the awarding of procurement contracts.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Only experience and/or education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
