The primary duty of College of Information and Cyberspace faculty is teaching core and elective graduate-level courses for senior leaders from a diverse curriculum that focuses on the information environment and DoD's extensive cyberspace presence from a national security perspective. Other duties include: maintaining academic currency through rigorous scholarship; participating in the development and implementation of the academic program; mentoring students and assessing their academic performance; serving on committees and performing other College leadership duties as assigned; contributing to the professional development of faculty colleagues; and developing and maintaining professional relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in Washington, DC and around the world.

Conditions of employment

Background or Security Investigation: This is a Special Sensitive position which requires a background investigation. The individual selected for this position is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security determination to occupy a Special Sensitive position within the agency as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must:

• Have an earned master's degree or other international equivalent degree (doctorate or other terminal degree preferred) from a regionally accredited university in a discipline directly related to national security, public policy, cyberspace strategy/security, information technology, data analytics, strategic leadership, or financial management.
• Have substantive knowledge and professional experience in fields directly relevant to the College mission, with experience in and/or expert knowledge of the information environment and cyberspace; with priority focus on the following competencies, as applicable: strategic leadership and organizational theory, data strategy and analytics, and information influence and operations.
• Have evidence of excellence in teaching as a faculty member at an accredited college or university.
• Have research experience, demonstrated through scholarship, publications, or outreach activities; recognition with academic, research communities, or professional experience.

CRITERIA FOR ACADEMIC RANK:
Assistant Professor: 1) an earned masters degree (a doctorate or other terminal degree preferred) from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline related to national security, public policy, cyberspace strategy/security, information
technology, data analytics, strategic leadership, or financial management. 2) documented evidence of promise in teaching, with some graduate level leaching experience preferred. 3) scholarship/research resulting in the creation and sharing of new knowledge through teaching or publishing; and 4)
aptitude in collaboration across institutional boundaries.

Associate Professor: 1) an earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline related to national security, public policy, cyberspace strategy/security, information technology, data
analytics, strategic leadership, or financial management. 2) at least five years of full-time teaching experience at an accredited university, of which at least two years must be at the graduate level: 3) record of excellence and leadership of scholarship among peers and external recognition of
excellence; and 4) record of advancement of institutional partnerships, relationships that leverage cross-component mission success, and networks of influence that contribute to national security.

Professor of Practice: 1) an earned master's degree, doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline related to national security, public policy, cyberspace strategy/security, information
technology, data analytics, strategic leadership, or financial management; 2) at least 10 years of outstanding performance as a senior-level practitioner in an agency of the federal government, professional staff member of a Congressional Committee, or senior level professional in the private sector with an outstanding record of public service, professional achievements in areas related to national security, public policy, cyberspace strategy/security, information technology, data analytics, strategic leadership, or financial management, specialized certification and/or regional, national or international prominence.

Professor: 1) an earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or international equivalent) in a discipline directly related to national security, public policy, cyberspace strategy/security, information technology, data analytics,
strategic leadership, or financial management; 2) at least eight years of full-time teaching experience at an accredited university, of which at least three years must be at the graduate level, with a sustained record of excellence and contributions to the curriculum; 3) sustained record of
excellence and leadership of scholarship among peers and external recognition of excellence; 4) sustained record of advancement of institutional partnerships, relationships that leverage cross component mission success, and networks of influence that contribute to national security.

Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

A screening panel will review your resume and narrative answers to the assessment questions to evaluate your qualifications for the position. NDU uses a multi-tier selection process for academic positions. You must attach a separate document with answers to the questions listed below. The following questions will be reviewed by the NDU screening panel.

1. Information Environment and Cyberspace - Describe your experience in and/or expert knowledge of the information environment and cyberspace; with priority focus on the following competencies, as applicable: strategic leadership and organizational theory, data strategy and analytics, and information influence and operations.
2. Teaching and Curriculum Development - Describe your experience in developing and teaching at the graduate-level and/or undergraduate level at a college or university, on either full-time or part-time basis in relevant areas focused on following competencies, as applicable: strategic leadership and organizational theory, data strategy and analytics, and information influence and operations.
3. Scholarship and Consulting - Describe your experience and achievements in scholarly activities and consulting in academia, government, and/or the private sector on the following areas, as applicable: information and cyberspace, strategic leadership and organizational theory, data strategy and analytics, information influence and operations.
4. Engagement - Describe your experience and achievements in interacting with high-level Government and private sector officials. Demonstrated ability to interact with highest-level government professionals, senior military officers, executives and leaders in the US and other countries.
