Summary

This position will plan and carry out R&D for data science and machine learning technologies, data sets, evaluation protocols, benchmarking and metrics; design, code & maintain evaluation support tools for data quality assurance, scoring, analysis and report generation; collaborate and otherwise develop technology briefs and publications. This position will contribute programming expertise for data science projects and assist in planning and the implementation of data science evaluations.

Help

The incumbent will collaborate with the research community to design evaluation metrics and methodologies for data analytic and explainable artificial intelligence system testing, design and implement evaluation tools and data sets to support technology development and testing, document testing and analysis results providing guidance to research and future artificial intelligence testing.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:



Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.

IN ADDITION, applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level (or ZP-II at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience applying software engineering concepts to solve complex problems in the domain of data science, machine learning, and/or artificial intelligence technologies requiring extensive data sets and/or calculations; experience with two of the following programming languages: Python, Java, R, Perl, Ruby, C/C++ and experience with two of the following operating systems: Linux, MAC, Windows.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree

This appointment may be extended up to four years without further competition.
