The Area of Consideration is for Citizens and Non-Citizens within Fort Hamilton's local commuting area. Duties

Help
  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area following established procedures.
  • Sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages on a serving line or tables.
  • Removes dishes and trays from tables after meals. Washes tables and counters.
  • Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables AND More.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • A one year probationary period may be required
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty
  • Medical examination is required.
  • Light to moderate physical effort is required. Lifts and moves items weighing up to 20 pounds. Subject to continuous standing and walking, and frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
  • Must be able to work an irregular schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15m, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.

Qualifications

  1. Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  1. Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.
  2. Must have the ability to perform routine manual tasks involving few steps, and be able to read and understand written material.
  3. Must have knowledge of basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
