As an Supervisory Auditor for the Office of Audits and Inspections, you will be responsible for supervising a team of auditors and inspectors, providing technical advice and guidance, coordinating audit and inspection activities for the Department of Energy's programs and operations, and planning, which in general includes policy development, workload planning, and management of resources.

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.
In addition to the basic eligibility requirements, applicants must have the following specialized experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position in the practical application of professional accounting and auditing principles, procedures, and techniques.
At the GS-15 grade level, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14).Specialized experience includes but is not limited to audit planning to include policy development, workload planning, and management of audit resources. Coordinating, planning, conducting, and evaluating audits; overseeing, managing, and directing a team of auditors; and providing expert advice and technical guidance to auditors.
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following KSA/competencies: (Applicants need not prepare written responses to these KSAs, unless asked in the online application.)
1. Knowledge of managing audit resources and activities of a Nation-wide program; preparing and directing the timely execution of audit plans; evaluating work in process; and reviewing audit results and reports for completeness and sufficiency.
2. Ability to lead and supervise a staff of professional personnel to include administering workforce discipline; implementing strategies that encourage and facilitate cooperation within the organization; and fostering commitment, team spirit and trust.
3. Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, to include preparing reports; constructing and delivering briefings; and in negotiations associated with resolving issues with internal and external officials.

A degree in accounting or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting; OR
4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge with a background that also includes one of the following: (1) Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality; or (2) A certificate as a Certified Public Account or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or (3) Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing.
