Help

Ensures security of all guests is maintained at all times

Ensures guest privacy is maintained at all times.

Must possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude,-demonstrate effective communication skills; professionally interact with guests; answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities; and provide information about local attractions. Provide assistance in handling customer complaints, involving management as necessary.

Liaisons with the NAF business office to maintain, reconcile and verify accounting records by implementing principles of accounting and double entry bookkeeping.

Maintain files of all correspondence and messages pertaining to financial records and accounting data. Prepare all necessary reports, documents and memorandum as required.

Prepare and types correspondence using established procedures.  Review/edit incoming and outgoing correspondence for proper format, conformance with procedural instructions, spelling, grammar and typographical accuracy.

Receive telephone calls and visitors.  Provide referrals to other divisions, as appropriate.

Responsible for handling office mail, to include sorting, reading incoming correspondence and preparing outgoing correspondence.

Make arrangements for meetings including space, time and notifies attendees of agenda. Assemble background materials, reports and statistical data pertaining to meetings, briefings, etc.  Provide minutes or summary reports of meetings.

Make travel arrangements for lodging staff.  Prepare completed travel vouchers and reports, as requested.

The incumbent may review, examine, verify and analyze a variety of documents for validity and accuracy that include purchase orders, invoices, vouchers, property records, inventories and income sources. May also receive, maintain, and verify payroll information and perform payroll control functions.

Responsible for billing and collection of customer accounts.  The incumbent is responsible to ensure management is informed of accounts older than 180 days and that, once approved, those accounts are written-off.

At the end of the accounting month, ensure accuracy of all assigned general ledger postings and reconciles general ledger balances with subsidiary ledgers and closes assigned accounts.  Pinpoint and resolve discrepancies. Any accounts that do not balance are reported to management and the NAF business office.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Must at least be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum two years' experience in an integrated double-entry accrual accounting system, although a certification or associates degree in accounting from an accredited university or business school is preferred.

Must possess knowledge of various accounting policies, regulations, terminology, processes and documentation to support transactions that involve the use of different forms and the application of different procedures.

Must be proficient with word processing and spreadsheet software and must have knowledge of one or more automated accounting data bases.  Must be able to type by touch with speed and accuracy.

Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Must have a minimum of high school or equivalent education.
