Help

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

  • Greets patients and visitors professionally and completes required computerized check-in and check-out procedures for all patients.
  • Utilizes computer system to schedule patient appointments and to input and retrieve data.
  • Confirms eligibility for treatment and third-party insurance information..
  • Records a variety of physician's orders involving patient activities, diets, treatments, tests and medications.

In accordance with BUMED INST 6220.9B, this position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Applicants tentatively selected for appointment to this position will be required to sign a statement (Condition of employment) consenting to season influenza vaccinations.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Entering patient orders, scheduling appointments and discharge instructions using computer systems.
  • Generating, managing, and reviewing information pertinent to the treatment of patients for completeness and accuracy.
  • Performing task and procedures relative to patient admission.

Education

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: Four (4) Years above high school.
This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
