OIG is organized into three line elements: the Offices of Investigations, Audits and Evaluations, and Healthcare Inspections; along with the Office of Contract Review and the Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 30 cities throughout the country.

The Management and Program Analyst, located in the Office of Investigations, is primarily responsible for OI budget formulation, procurement procedures, contract oversight, and marketing strategies. The OIG employee is also involved with agency property, regional budget formulation/procurement, develops operational and administrative policies and procedures for the OI, oversight of the OI budget program, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Help

As a Management and Program Analyst, you will:

- Perform an assortment of analytical work involving OI’s management programs, systems, and operations to evaluate efficiencies, effectiveness, productivity, and compliance with rules, regulations and policies.
- Plan and conduct research, identifies applicable program data sets, draws conclusions, writes, edits, and presents reports, briefing reports, or statements related to management information and needs and systems, and/or various administrative and /or management related topics.
- Evaluate information systems capable of monitoring OI program workload, performance, objectives, and accomplishments.
- Develop long-range strategies for the OI management programs, which involve monitoring existing plans, developing mechanisms to project future program developments and needs, keeping abreast of, and conducting research relevant to programs, and developing strategies and plans to accomplish long-range goals.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

-Performing a wide range of analysis related to programs, documents, and data to insure management functions are carried out; AND
-Developing program objectives, evaluating methods, and developing solutions to improve quality of service and overall performance; AND
-Composing presentations to inform, respond (to inquiries), and to influence and persuade senior officials, managers and persons; AND
-Advising and guiding colleagues in development of budget formulation, procurement objectives, and best practices related to business/market compliance.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
