Summary
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) Intern Career Development Program is part of the Pathways Internship Program, which is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions with paid opportunities to explore Federal careers while still attending school. As part of this program, students will partner with a mentor and participate in a structured training and professional development curriculum designed to prepare you for a successful Federal career. This position is working with APHIS'S Plant Protection and Quarantine Program.
This position will be located in Phoenix, AZ. To be eligible for this position, you MUST be able to attend school AND physically report to your duty station in Phoenix on a full or part time (at least 16 hours a week) schedule year round in order to carry out work assignments. Remote locations or telework schedules are not available. Housing and travel expenses WILL NOT be paid.
Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service. The target position upon graduation would be to a qualifying position as a GS-0401 Plant Health Safeguarding Specialist.
The Marketing and Regulatory Programs will be at Navajo Technical University, Student Union #231, Lowerpoint Road, State Highway 371, Crownpoint NM 87313 accepting applications for this position.
