Summary

As a Supervisory IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will serve as the Director of the Cloud Portfolio Division. This Division is responsible for government-wide programs that provide a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

Location of Position: General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), Technology Transformation Service (TTS), Office of Products & Programs, Cloud Portfolio Division in Washington, DC.

Duties

Help

* Supervises and directs the work of IT staff engaged in IT security programs and compliance with required security and privacy requirements.

* Organizes and plans staff work assignments on an ongoing basis.

* Manages approximately 12 million dollars and manages a portfolio of programs, products and platforms designed to enable agencies to move rapidly, easily and securely to the cloud which include FedRAMP, FedRAMP Accelerated, and other initiatives across TTS, which the portfolio supports such as Cloud.gov and Cloud Masonry.

* Implements and provides authoritative advice and guidance to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of network and information systems on a broad, complex spectrum impacting various government entities.

* Collaborates with government wide stakeholders and partners in an attempt to implement and support the government’s information security needs and establish related guidelines.

  • Complete a financial disclosure report to verify that no conflict, or an appearance of conflict, exists between your financial interest and this position
  • Serve a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period, if required

The GS-15 salary range starts at $131,767 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

To qualify, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service as described below:

IT SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Attention to Detail - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant keeps abreast of latest technology, information, research, etc., to maintain knowledge in field of expertise (for example, reads trade journals, participates in professional/technical associations, maintains credentials).
Customer Service - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant promotes or develops and maintains good working relationships with key individuals or groups.
Oral Communication - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant serves on panels, committees, or task forces as a representative for the organization on technical or professional issues.
Problem Solving - This skill is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant monitors current trends or events (for example, technological, economic, political, social, educational, or employment trends or events) and applies the information as appropriate.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Specialized experience is experience managing cloud services and cloud migration, including defining benefits, planning strategies, and leading implementation; and, making investment (and/or divestment) decisions about how to maximize the impact of budget allocated to moving systems of large organizations to the cloud. The experience must also include experience in both Commercial Cloud and DevOps:
Commercial Cloud - experience in using virtualized resources in commercial cloud environments, and deploying and scaling applications using strategies optimized for these environments.
DevOps - experience in horizontal application scaling, the use of configuration management techniques, and generally ensuring rapid reproducible application deployments.

* Knowledge of cybersecurity; i.e. body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access.
* Skill in system configuration and deployment automation technologies.
* Skill in developing strategic plans and roadmaps for IT system migrations that incorporate cloud best practices.
* Skill in forging and fostering partnerships and communications with government agencies, expert IT professionals, and prominent technology organizations.
* Skill in developing strategic plans and roadmaps.
* Ability to supervise technical and administrative staff.
