In this position, you will perform technical work dealing with the organization's voice and/or data communications systems.
Typical assignments include:
Analyzing and supporting requirements for a range of user communications needs primarily related to phone and data lines on the NETC campus.
Providing support in maintaining, repairing, installing and trouble-shooting a wide range of network related hardware to include FEMA switches, network cabling and fiber that connects all campus information technology systems, VTC's, faxes, analog and digital related systems used on campus.
Translating the needs of users relative to data communication into technical requirements and equipment installation and repair.
Preparing recommendations to management on adopting economical/effective telecommunications.

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled.
Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis.
