Convene the GES DISC User Working Group. Guide the evolution of GES DISC products and services from a scientific perspective by developing strategies to improve discovery, access, quality, and utility of its data holdings.

Serve as a recognized expert in statistical aspects of remote sensing and multi-sensor data inter-comparison in analyses of aerosol, cloud, and other atmospheric parameters. Lead the formulation and development of online services that bring together and visualize datasets in various ways.
Promote the community awareness and use of GES DISC data and services through workshops, user forums and peer reviewed publications. Interact with project personnel, NASA HQ, other NASA Centers, and other foreign and US agencies, private industry, and the national and international scientific and academic communities involved with spaceborne remote sensing or data system technologies.

Attend national and international science meetings to: present research and development results; highlight the availability of new products and online services; acquire feedback concerning the effectiveness, quality, and limitations of products; develop insight into research directions, requirements, and preferences to select, acquire and prepare data for research use; and establish contacts and visibility necessary to elicit partners for new proposals.

Understand and serve as advocate of the needs of the science research community, as well as those of application users requiring higher levels of support to demonstrate the broad societal benefit of NASA observations and research in areas such as disaster resilience, water resource management, human health, food security and energy resource management.
