Help

As an Supervisory Inspector for the Office of Audits and Inspections, you will be responsible for supervising a team of auditors and inspectors, providing technical advice and guidance, coordinating audit and inspection activities for the Department of Energy's programs and operations, and planning, which in general includes policy development, workload planning, and management of resources.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade restrictions must also be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position.

Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period.

Upon reporting, and on an annual basis thereafter, you will be required to file a financial statement and/or a procurement integrity certification. These certifications may be subject to public disclosure.

This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. Failure to pass subsequent tests could result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the Federal service.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.

At the GS-15 grade level, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14). Specialized experience includes experience in conducting reviews of complex management issues and administrative allegations and making recommendations for corrective action.

The successful applicant for this position will possess the following KSAs/competencies:

1. Ability to evaluate programs and operations for regulatory compliance.

2. Ability to write analytical reports on federal programs and operations.

3. Ability to orally commuicate with senior officials.

4. Knowledge of computer systems.

5. Ability to lead and supervise a staff of professional personnel to include administering workforce discipline, implementing strategies that encourage cooperation within the organization, and supporting EEO goals.
