OIG is organized into three line elements: the Offices of Investigations, Audits and Evaluations, and Healthcare Inspections; along with the Office of Contract Review and the Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 30 cities throughout the country.
The Executive Assistant, located in the Office of Healthcare Inspections (OHI), relieves Senior Executives of administrative details and performs administrative functions that require a thorough knowledge of OIG/OHI policies, procedures, and operations, and an understanding of the OIG’s role within the VA. The activities managed by this position and the many critical decisions and actions that he/she must take involve policy and planning and report management, making it essential for him/her to have a comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience in areas of planning, program oversight and monitoring, and operational support; a broad knowledge of VA programs and missions.
