The following are the duties of this position at the CN-53 (Broadly equivalent to the GS-13). If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Prepares issue papers that provide analyses of issues and recommendations for resolution and/or process improvement.
Plays a key role in managing the clearance processes for publication of external documents, including speeches, web content, testimony before Congress, press releases, and documents for publication in the Federal Register.
Prepares final drafts of letters, memoranda, white papers, etc., on sensitive/critical matters that communicate the Bureau’s and the Director’s views, philosophies, or position to external parties.
Develops and recommends Bureau correspondence policies, business processes, automated and administrative systems, methods and procedures that improve the flow of communications.

Specialized experience: For the CN-52, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the CN-51 grade level in the Federal service (For qualification purposes, the CN-51 is broadly equivalent to the GS-11).
For this position, specialized experience is defined to include:
• Reviewing and editing reports, correspondence, or other materials dealing with technical, policy, and/or program issues for accuracy, adherence to policy, organization of material, appropriateness for intended audience and grammar; • Recommending policy or procedural changes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a program; and • Interacting with executive level staff as well as developing relationships and collaborating with individuals internal and external to your work group.
