Plans, conducts and maintains control over complex cases involving criminal or civil statue violations pertaining to SBA programs, as well as administrative code of conduct violations involving SBA employees. Work involves: analyzing and evaluating leads/allegations; developing evidence; executing search warrants affidavits; using various investigative techniques such as surveillance, searches and electronic monitoring; and coordinating with other law enforcement departments and agencies.
Initiates and maintains continuing liaison with other federal OIG's, regulatory enforcement agencies and local law enforcement; presents reports and testimonies that are clear and convincing; conducts investigative interviews.
Prepares reports of investigation and other investigative reports. Reports include analysis of evidence from a wide variety of sources and evaluation of interrelated activities uncovered during the investigation.
You must successfully complete a background investigation.
You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service that is directly in, or related to, the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Planning and conducting multi-jurisdictional and multi-defendant criminal investigations to determine violations of Federal laws and regulations; obtaining and evaluating evidence and recommending action; reconstructing and examining records; conducting interviews and interrogations; developing facts; making arrests and conducting searches and seizures; assisting attorneys during case preparation; or similar experience.
TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in grade (TIG) requirements with 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled.
