Duties

Help

This position assists in maintaining all equipment and facilities in optimum operating condition and to repair or replace any inoperative equipment. Assists Senior Mechanic with installing, adjusting, repairing, overhauling and regularly inspecting bowling facility electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment to include automatic pinsetter, automatic ball returns, speed cradle stops, automatic score and foul units, automatic ball cleaner, hole borers, and lane maintenance machines.  Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment referring to manuals for diagrams and instructions. Follows manufacturers maintenance schedules. Conditions, maintains, and repair bowling pins and lanes. For example, repair cracks, chips, and splinters using wood and plastic lane stock, sanding and recoating surfaces. Maintains required records and reports; initiates requests for spare parts, supplies and hand equipment. Performs general housekeeping task to ensure proper standards of appearance, cleanliness, and safety of assigned spaces. Performs other mechanical and electrical work to bowling facility as time and capabilities permit. Duties are performed to provide customer satisfaction and contribute positively to the success and profitability of the organization.

Successful completion of National Agency (NACI) background check required.  Must be able to lift and carry parts and assemblies weighing up to 40 pounds, occasionally will need push or pull assemblies weighing up to 100 pounds.  This positions requires frequent stooping, bending and reaching and works in awkward places. Work is performed primarily indoors in adequately heated and lighted area. Exposure to loud noises, dust, grease, chemical cleaning solvents, and the possibility of cuts, bruises, abrasions, and electrical shock. Routine schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings and during special events which could fall on weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

Must have formal training in bowling equipment repair and maintenance or a minimum of two years practical experience in this field.  AMF/Qubica or Brunswick certification and training desirable as experience, but not necessary.  Skill in the use of hand tools and ability to perform limited preventive maintenance such as cleaning and oiling equipment and conditioning lane surfaces. Ability to use common cleaning materials and equipment and to safely operate and adjust bowling equipment. Must be able to communicate verbally and be able to take written instructions from the supervisor and manual. Must have a valid driver’s License and must have or obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within first 90 days of employment.        

Education

Must have formal training in bowling equipment repair and maintenance or a minimum of two years practical experience in this field.
