This ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC position, is located in either the Communications, Countermeasures and Navigation shop or Guidance and Control Shop, Component Repair Branch, of an Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and is part of the CA 146 AW, National Guard.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

MILITARY MEMBERS WITH BONUSES: Upon acceptance of a military technician position military members who are currently receiving a military Reenlistment/Extension Bonus (REB) or GI Bill-SR Kicker may lose incentive eligibility and may be subject to termination or suspension of incentive (includes indefinite and temporary technicians on assignment for more than 180 days in any continuous 12-month period).

Help

The primary purpose of the ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-14, is to serve as a Small Shop Chief (SSC) with the responsibility for the overall shop. The position oversees and directs work of one or more Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanics, WG-2610-13, who are assigned to the shop. The incumbent performs the full range of non-supervisory work of the shop.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Priority Areas(s) of Consideration:

AREA I = Current California National Guard technicians who are serving on a
Permanent/Indefinite/Temporary dual status appointment.
AREA II = Current California National Guard members.
AREA III = Current military members of the Army National Guard/Air Force National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Regular
Air Force/Army. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and
NOT currently a member of the Air Force California National Guard (CNG) must become a
member of a compatible unit of assignment within the CNG commensurate with
the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment)

Military Grades: E-6 through E-7

Recruitment/Relocation
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to National Guard Bureau approval.

PCS
Relocation Costs MAY BE authorized subject to provisions of the Joint Travel Regulation and an agency determination that a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is in the Government's best interest.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance.
Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards.
Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives.
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

Must have both primary and duty AFSCs listed above in order to qualify. If applicant does not have compatible AFSCs, it will result in automatic disqualification.

If not a current CA National Guard member, failure to submit a current RIP, will result in automatic disqualification.

General Experience
: Possess a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade; Experience collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Experience communicating clearly and effectively; Experience installing, modifying, overhauling, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, calibrating, and rebuilding multi-system avionics; Experience applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material; Experience training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving.

ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-14: The applicant must have at least 24 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13, and must possess the craftsmen knowledge and skills level as required for planning, accomplishing, and maintaining a functional shop maintenance program. Experiences included the ability to plan and complete assigned mechanic shop work. Skilled in completing tasks and works well with others to complete the work. Skilled and knowledgeable of the required and appropriate maintenance procedures to ensure the accurate and efficient completion of work activities. Experienced in estimating manpower, equipment and material requirements involved to finish assigned work or special projects. Experienced in devising and maintaining all program plans and records. Skilled in delivering surveillance and troubleshooting techniques. Capable of independently determining levels of maintenance and necessary repair procedures. Skilled in planning, organizing, and directing shop maintenance programs/procedures. Experienced in determining various approaches, methods, and courses-of-action required to effectively and efficiently accomplish the mission work. Skilled and articulate in providing recommendations to supervisors in regard to personnel actions, such as performance appraisals, awards, position descriptions changes, disciplinary actions, or leave requests. Skilled in implementing environmental safety requirements and identifying equipment handling concerns that resulted in observed safety and housekeeping practices. Experiences included compliance with wearing the appropriate safety equipment and following pertinent safety precautions.

Education

Education Requirement: To qualify into the ANG Dual Status Technician FWS 2610 position, award of the compatible Air Force Specialty Code, Craftsman appropriate Skill Level is required.
