The incumbent serves as the first line supervisor of a group of attorney-advisors, paralegal analysts and technicians with grades from GS-4 through GS-12 who work in a group setting with ALJs who process the hearings level of claims processing for programs of the Social Security Administration and Health Care Financing Administration within a large designated service area. It is the incumbent?s responsibility to provide professional and technical support to the Agency?s ALJs whose primary purpose is to conduct hearings and issue disability and non-disability decisions on a timely basis. As required, the incumbent will perform any and all duties of subordinate attorneys supervised. Qualifications
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience included experience in reviewing claims and preparing written recommendations under Titles II, XVI, and /or XVIII of the Social Security Act; experience in planning, directing and/or supervising a staff; and experience performing studies and preparing analyses or evaluations relating to management/organizational issues, administrative systems or operating procedures. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

LOCALITY PAY: Salary will be set in accordance with locality pay provisions. The locality pay percentage for this office is 27.10 %.
