As the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations you will be responsible for managing the development and direction of an investigative program area (located at various geographic locations), ensuring the integrity of programs and operations within the Department of Energy. Duties will include developing, initiating and overseeing strategic policies, procedures and techniques used by investigative staff; coordinating on-going efforts and joint reviews with the Office of Audits and Inspections; recommending priorities for long range planning; analyzing criminal investigative operations and developing or instituting new guidelines governing the conduct of investigations, preparing investigative summaries and material used in responding to Congressional or other inquiries; and representing the Office of Investigations and maintaining liaison with officials at Government Accountability Office, Office of Management Budget, other Federal, State and local governmental officials, and large industrial contractors.

• The selectee must successfully complete the 10-week Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's Basic Criminal Investigator Training Program. Applicants who have previously completed the training program are exempt.

To meet the minimum qualification requirements for this position, you must show that you possess the Mandatory Technical Qualifications and other qualifications, if applicable, listed below.

MANDATORY TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

All applicants must submit written statements specifically addressing each MTQs. Statements should not exceed two pages per MTQ. You must address each technical qualification separately.

1. Senior-level experience in effectively conducting, supervising, and leading complex criminal and administrative investigations of fraud and/or ethics violations involving Federally funded programs and operations.

2. Senior-level experience developing and implementing investigative policy and programs to ensure effective and efficient investigative operations.

3. Expert ability to communicate investigative results to partners and major stake holders such as Federal, State, and local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, regulatory agencies, Congress, and Senior-level Department officials(Secretary, Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretaries), the Government Accountability Office and the Office of Management and Budget.

4. Expert knowledge of OIG programs and operations and their inter-operability to include investigative, audit, and inspection mission requirements.
