As an Instructor or Assistant Professor, you will teach three or more undergraduate courses in psychology in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy, an accredited 4-year undergraduate college.
The department is an interdisciplinary program with courses in General Psychology, Engineering Psychology, Management, Leadership, and Sociology. You will design, teach and administer undergraduate courses, and mentor students' academic and extracurricular development. You will support the personal and professional development of cadets in and out of the classroom, as a role model for future leaders of the Nation.

Qualifications
This is a full time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed 13 months starting on or about August 1, 2017.
SALARY: Competitive salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelors degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject matter field appropriate to the position (Psychology) OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTORS/KNOWLEDGE SKILLSAND ABILITIES (KSAs): Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Education in Psychology (a Ph.D. is strongly preferred); 2) Ability to teach three or more courses in Psychology; 3) Ability to mentor students, direct them in their individual, application-oriented research projects and support student activities outside the classroom; 4) Ability to work cooperatively with other faculty who teach an integrated curriculum.
