OIG is organized into three line elements: the Offices of Investigations, Audits and Evaluations, and Healthcare Inspections; along with the Office of Contract Review and the Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 30 cities throughout the country.

The Supervisory Space Management Officer, located in the Office of Management and Administration, is responsible for providing expert assistance on major planning problems and helping to formulate efficient, economical space operations and property management policies, criteria, and procedures.

Help

As a Supervisory Space Management Officer, you will:

- Provide expert assistance on major planning problems and help to formulate efficient, economical space operations and property management policies, criteria, and procedures.

- Initiate and carry through to completion engineering studies, surveys, and projects relating to control of administrative space within the VAOIG.

- Serve as consultant to VAOIG building management personnel on engineering and space management concept and technique.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement

Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:

- Surveying an organization's current and future space requirements.

- Designing floor plans and layouts for required design intent documents;

- Analyzing and evaluating data such as location, square footage, floor load capacity, heating, plumbing and ventilation; and recommending architectural and structural modification to meet usage needs;

- Coordinating schedules for completion of work, assigning work to subordinates, and leading projects.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.

Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a nontemporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- A one year supervisory probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
