Help

The purpose of the position is to act as general manager to supervise and ensure the efficient operation of all programs and facilities assigned.  Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, promoting, coordinating, executing, evaluating and managing a variety of comprehensive programs as assigned.  Programs may include, but are not limited to Fitness and Sports; Special Events; ITT; Recreation Internet Center; Outdoor Recreation; Auto Hobby Shop; Childcare/Youth/Child Development Homes, Golf, Bowling, Clubs etc.  Responsible for the day-to-day operations assigned ensuring internal controls (cash handling, daily accounting of funds, inventory, property and vehicles) are in place and in compliance with regional standards, procedures and objectives.  Appraises the adequacy of action taken by facility managers to correct deficient conditions noted during inspections.  Prepares and submits procurement requests for supplies and equipment in a timely manner.  Prepares, justifies, executes and monitors annual budgets for each assigned program.  Determines the adequacy of assigned facilities and programs, identifying additional facility/program and patron needs.  Submits recommendations for facility construction and renovation projects and recommends/monitors the repair and maintenance of existing facilities and equipment.  Effectively communicates repair needs to Public Works Department, following up as necessary.  Establishes and maintains a working relationship with other site MWR activities.  Keeps supervisor and other functional/operational managers informed of developments, issues and concerns.  Acts as liaison with special interest groups, private organizations, special events and customers, resolving concerns effectively and quickly, keeping appropriate management officials advised.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 

Must possess and maintain a current driver's license. 

As a position of trust, employment is conditional on the successful completion of a National Agency Check or equivalent background check(s) upon selection and periodically thereafter. 

Postilion is designated ALPHA  personnel, which requires attendance during serious weather or security conditions.

Position is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement OGE-450 upon entering on duty and annually thereafter IAW DOD directive 5500.7-R and Joint Ethics Regulation.

A Bachelor's Degree in Recreation or a related field is strongly preferred.
