This position is located in the Digital Media Division (DMD), reporting to the Deputy Director's Office (DD), of the National Gallery of Art. The incumbent will serve as a Content Producer within the Gallery’s Website department (DWEB), and will report to the head of that department.

The Gallery Website department (DWEB) is responsible for creating, managing, and enhancing the Gallery's public facing digital media solutions including websites, mobile applications, and in-gallery installations. DWEB works with staff across every Gallery department to support digital media projects that further the Gallery mission and institutional objectives.

The Content Producer supports the department and Gallery staff with a variety of digital media activities including creating and updating digital content for the Gallery’s website and other digital properties.

Help

The incumbent:

  • Collaborates with department staff and othe content creators, designers, and developers to produce Web content that supports department and Gallery objectives.
  • Contributes to the department’s Web design effort by creating, editing, and efficiently arranging materials (including graphics, images, and all other content) into a cohesive, and visually gratifying end-user experience.
  • Works within the Gallery’s content management system Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to update website content by selecting templates, formatting content, creating links, selecting cross- promotional materials, adding images and/or video, publishing pages and related activities.
  • Supports department staff in achieving project objectives.
  • Creates and maintains documentation of digital media projects, and assists with developing and executing project plans and budgets.
  • Monitors and reports on analytics from the Gallery's website, app, e- newsletters and other systems.
  • Provides assistance to the department head with a variety of administrative functions, such as creating reports, preparing presentations, and scheduling.
  • Tracks and organizes Web job form requests and coordinates production activities with clients and department staff.
  • Responds to internal requests for website content changes via e-mail, telephone and other means.
  • Trains Gallery staff in the use of AEM and regularly documents and communicates news, improvements and updates.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to Gallery staff, maintains collegial relations with supervisors, co-workers and employees.
  • Responds to public requests for information and assistance in a timely and courteous fashion.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements. For the GS-9 level, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the federal GS-7 level, creating and updating digital content for a website that regularly receives at least 500,000 monthly page views.

For the GS-11 level, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the federal GS-9 level, creating and updating digital content for a website that regularly receives at least 500,000 monthly page views.
