These positions are being filled under Expedited Hiring Authority (EHA) for Defense Acquisition Workforce Positions and Health Care Occupations. The Secretary of the Air Force has delegated authority by the Office Of the Secretary of Defense to directly appoint individuals to select defense acquisition workforce positions, or 'EHA Acquisition,' pursuant to the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and certain health care occupations, or 'EHA Medical.' Positions are located Air Force-Wide. Positions may be filled as permanent or term with a full-time or part-time work schedule. Pay will vary by geographic location.

Help

  • Manage or direct a program for the management of the financial resources of an organizational segment, field establishment, bureau, department, independent agency, or other organizational entity of the Federal Government.
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains an integrated system of financial staff services including at least accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting, and sometimes also one or more related staff services such as auditing, credit analysis, management analysis, etc.
  • Exercises effective control over the financial resources of the organization.
  • Coordinates and synthesizes financial and management data so as to interpret the composite financial results of operations to all levels of the organization's management.
  • Advises on developing, coordinating, and carrying out financial policies, procedures, and plans. Reviews, analyzes, evaluates, and reports on program accomplishments within financial terms. Advises and assists the management officials of the organization served by supplying financial management advice required to make management decisions, establish organizational goals and objectives, and in all respects to manage the organization.

Qualifications

GS-12: One year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level may consist of developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services including at least accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting, and sometimes also one of more of such staff service as auditing, credit analysis, management analysis, etc.

GS-13: One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level may consist of exercising effective control over the financial resources and the organization; includes developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services including at least accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting, and sometimes also one of more of such staff service as auditing, credit analysis, management analysis, etc.

GS-14: One year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level may consist of subject matter expert leading coordinating and synthesizing financial and management data so as to interpret the composite financial results of operations to all levels of the organizations management; exercising effective control over the financial resources and the organization; includes developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services including at least accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting, and sometimes also one of more of such staff service as auditing, credit analysis, management analysis, etc.

GS-15: One year of specialized experience at the GS-14 level may consist of leading reviewing, advising and assisting the management officials of the organization served by supplying financial management advise required to make management decisions, establish organizational goals and objectives, and in all respects to manage the organization; coordinating and synthesizing financial and management data so as to interpret the composite financial results of operations to all levels of the organizations management; exercising effective control over the financial resources and the organization; includes developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services including at least accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting, and sometimes also one of more of such staff service as auditing, credit analysis, management analysis, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial staff services including at least accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting, and sometimes also one or more of such related staff services as auditing, credit analysis, management analysis, etc.
2. Knowledge of exercising effective control over the financial resources of the organization;
3. Knowledge of coordinating and synthesizing financial and management data so as to interpret the composite financial results of operations to all levels of the organization's management.
4. Knowledge on advice on, developing, coordinating, and carrying out financial policies, procedures, and plans.
5. Knowledge in reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and reporting upon program accomplishments in financial terms.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
