Help

  • Conducts research, writes, coordinates, organizes, and publishes engaging stories to the Museum’s digital platforms.
  • Facilitate community engagement by ensuring story content is engaging, relevant, motivates dialogue and/or invites participation, and is accessible to the broadest possible audience.
  • Maintain editorial calendar and a continuous, agile content production process, refining metadata and establishing workflows to optimize efficiency, usability, and quality.
  • Track and report content-related key performance indicators and analytics, monitor and moderate public generated content, and continuously review content for quality assurance.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for this position if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 level in the Federal Service or comparable pay band system. For this position specialized experience is defined as researching and writing stories (articles), facilitating the writing, publishing, and editing process, maintaining editorial schedule/calendar, coordinating multiple authors, publishing digital assets and content online, using content management systems, applying tags/metadata/categories to content, engaging the public around stories and encouraging dialogue, moderating public (user-generated) content, fact-checking and quality assurance, tracking and reporting digital analytics.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.

Or Education: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s or equivalent degree related to this position may be substituted to meet the experience requirements.
