Sentinel (OFS). Audit has multiple vacancies available within the Directorate
(division) in Alexandria, VA. The positions available
are for team leaders (511 series or 343 series). There are positions with our financial teams,
as well as, opportunities for teams that conduct short term TDYs and 90-day
deployments to Afghanistan.
Team Leader - develops or oversees the development of methodologies,
analyses and supporting work papers that are relevant to the project
objectives. Assigns, distributes, and communicates assignments to
assigned staff and ensures effective and timely completion of assignments.
Duties include:
·Researches applicable
laws, directives and other regulatory material to gain audit knowledge.
·Oversees a team
of auditors and other appropriate staff to ensure proper application of audit
techniques.
·Articulates and
communicates to the assigned team the audit project, problem to be solved,
actionable events, milestones, deadlines and timeframes for completion.
·Leads assigned
audit team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among
employees to accomplish overall mission.
·Serves as
coach, facilitator and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in
consensus building activities among team members.
·Represents the
team in dealing with the supervisor or manager for the purpose of obtaining
resources and securing needed information or decisions for the supervisor on
major work problems and issues that arise.
·Researches,
learns and applies a wide range of qualitative and /or quantitative methods to
identify, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products.
·Resolves
simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others, such as formal
grievances and appeals, to the supervisor or an appropriate management
official.
·Communicates
team consensus and recommendations to the supervisor on actions affecting team
and individual awards, rewards and recognition.
·Communicates to
the supervisor on audit team member performance management issues/problems and
to recommend/request related actions, such as assignments, reassignments,
promotions, tour of duty changes, peer reviews and performance appraisals.
·Maintains
security and accountability of classified information.
These positions are being filled using 5 U.S. Code § 3161
authority. The positions are temporary and available for 13-month increments. These
temporary positions may be extended beyond the 13-month period based upon
performance and the needs of the OIG.
Contingency Operations employees will be required to travel to contingency
operations locations, such as Southwest Asia. Travel will generally be
between 2-4 weeks, and may include benefits, such as danger pay, post
differential, and overtime. Individuals applying to the financial teams,
may be required to travel CONUS and/or OCONUS.
Typical travel for positions to Afghanistan will be in 90, 120, or 180
day rotations. Benefits include, danger
pay, post differential, overtime, and other relocation incentives. All candidates
must meet specific requirements set forth by the related Combatant Command,
such as CENTCOM, to be qualified to travel.

for Program Analyst (343 series)/ Auditor (511 series) position:
Your resume must clearly demonstrate that you:
Proficient knowledge of and experience
in conducting performance audits in accordance with Generally Accepted
Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) is required. Federal Inspector General
auditing or U.S. Government Accountability Office experience is highly
desirable.
Proficient knowledge of the functions,
processes, and principles of management (e.g., management practices, theories,
and methodology of management) sufficient to organize and develop analyses or
studies that will lead to improvement of overall operations.
Proficient experience in interpersonal skills to
meet and deal effectively with others at all levels of authority and exert a
positive influence.
Proficient experience in
communicating complex and technical information orally and in writing.
Proficient experience in conducting the activities outlined in the duties section above.
