Is responsible for developing, recommending, administering and directing the Regimental program of the Academy.
Develops Regimental policy and a program of self-government, discipline and military type organization to implement that policy.
Develops and oversees the leadership development, human relations and honor systems for Midshipmen.
Participates in the Academy management at the executive level.
Provides and directs a program of social and recreational activities for Midshipmen.
Administers the Regimental organization which requires Midshipmen Officers to exercise practical leadership skills through command and staff functions in supervising the military/student life and daily routine of the Regiment of Midshipmen.
Develops and implements broad policies and plans related to the Regimental Program, student life, dormitory housing and every aspect of Midshipmen officer development.
Controls and evaluates the military and Regimental instruction, testing and grading of Midshipmen, including evaluation of company officers and student performance, within the Regimental program.
Monitors the adequacy of the Midshipman quarters, health services, clothing, food and related commissary services.
Develops, implements, and supervises procedures which provide an effective, comprehensive leadership training program for the Midshipmen.
Is responsible for the budget (appropriated funds and gift funds) for the division; identifies and implements management improvements, cost reductions and enhance efficiencies whenever possible.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
SELECTIVE SERVICE: Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for the Selective Service.
TRIAL PERIOD: This is an Excepted Service position. This job will be filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive service. Applicants selected for an excepted service position may be subject to a two-year trial period.
SUPERVISORY PROBATIONARY PERIOD: New supervisors must complete a 1-year probationary period (unless already completed).
Officer Appointment Requirement: The person selected for this position will be appointed an officer in the United States Maritime Service (USMS) and will be required to purchase and wear a USMS uniform while performing their duties.
Residential Requirement: The person selected for this position will be required to reside on the Academy grounds in assigned Quarters and pay Quarters rental fees.
GOVERNMENT TRAVEL CARD: This position involves travel. A government contractor-issued travel card will be issued and must be retained for official business only.

TO QUALIFY FOR THE GS-15:
On Experience, you must have at least one year of equal or equivalent experience, it must include:
Experience in military officer development, higher education student affairs administration, senior-level government or military administration, while providing leadership, supervision, safety and discipline to students transitioning from high school to college.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
