Help

  • Provides audit support services to management and staff in the assigned office.
  • Assists in the compilation, arrangement, and evaluation review of data to be included in contract audit work
    papers and documents.
  • Examines routine documents and records to verify computation accuracy.
  • Assists in maintaining appropriate audit administrative files, time control information and data in support of
    audit team.

Qualifications

Applicants must be current students pursuing a degree or certificate in a qualifying educational institution. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Qualifying Education Institution: Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education

1) A 2-year or 4-year college or university; OR

You must meet the minimum qualification requirements as stated in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Operating

Basic Requirements:
For the GS-03 level: Completion of one academic year of post-high school study.
For the GS-04 level: Completion of two academic years of post-high school study or associate's degree.
** The required education must lead to an undergraduate degree in Accounting or a related field (accounting, auditing, business administration, economics, finance, or public administration) with a total of 24 or more semester hours in Accounting including up to 6 semester hours in Business Law.

Background Investigation: All selectees will be subject to a personnel security investigation which must be favorably adjudicated for occupancy of a sensitive position and/or access to classified information. If you are selected for a critical/special sensitive position, you will be subject to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). You must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance eligibility at the Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) level. You will be subject to a random counterintelligence scope polygraph.


Drug Testing: If you are given access to classified information, you will be subject to random drug testing. If you are selected for a critical/special sensitive position, you will be placed in a drug testing designated position. You must pass a drug test before your assignment to such a position and you will be subject to random drug testing subsequent to your assignment.

This is an Excepted Service appointment. Pathways interns may be converted to a permanent position (or, in some limited circumstances, to a term position lasting 1-4 years) within 120 days of successful completion of the program.

Grades: This vacancy is announced at two grade levels and may be filled at either level. You must specify the grade(s) at which you wish to be considered. Otherwise, you will be considered only at the highest grade for which you qualify.


Additional Vacancies: This announcement may be used to fill additional positions.

Travel: Some travel is required including overnight travel.

Financial Management Certification: As a condition of employment, the selectee must meet the requirements of the DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification Program. The FM Certification Program is a course based program consisting of three certification levels. Level 1 certification must normally be completed within two years of the selectee's employment start date.

Mobility Agreement: All DCAA auditors must sign a mobility agreement.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

  • Knowledge of various standardized auditing and accounting principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Ability to compile and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs: Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to gather and consolidate information into reports.

Your results on these assessments will place you in one of three categories:

Best Qualified Category – Meets the minimum qualification requirements and demonstrates a high level of proficiency in the job related competencies based on the answers to the assessments
Highly Qualified Category – Meets the minimum qualification requirements and demonstrates proficiency in some of the job-related competencies based on the answers to the assessments.
Qualified Category - Meets the minimum qualifications.


Within these categories, applicants eligible for veteran's preference will receive selection priority over non-veterans.
