NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

AMMUNITION INSPECTOR, WG-6501-8

1. Assists in the inspection of ammunition, to include performing maintenance, care preservation, shipping and storage operations, assuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety regulations, drawings, and other assigned activities during operations.

2. Directs preparation of various ammunition transaction documents pertaining to receipts, issues, location changes, turn-ins, shipping, along with the maintenance and inventory adjustment of ammunition items.

3. Provides technical assistance and guidance in using the automated Standard Army Ammunition System Modernization (SAAS-MOD) system.

4. Plans and accomplishes inventories of all stocks.

5. Archives files and performs system back-ups and restore applications.

6. Reviews data input, reports, change packages, day-to-day operations and makes recommendations to resolve problems.

7. Performs other duties as assigned.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:

Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Your Resume must list some experience in each of these areas:
Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use and maintain tools and equipment associated with the type of work to be done, and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of and the ability to apply safety standards.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your Resume must show at least [ 12 ] months in each of the following areas:
Experience or training handling and the ability to learn how to destroy explosives and toxic materials; follow safety procedures in the handling of ammunition, explosives and toxic materials. Experience which demonstrates the ability to use radial monitoring instruments, photographs, chemical analysis and x-ray equipment.
