This position is located in the Department of the Chief Executive Officer, Office of AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).

The NCCC is a full-time, team based residential program for men and women ages 18 to 26. The program is designed to strengthen communities and develop leaders through direct, team-based national and community service. Corps members are assigned to one of four campuses located in Aurora, CO; Sacramento, CA; Vicksburg, MS; and Vinton, IA.

Primary Responsibilities: The Digital Media Specialist designs and executes digital outreach to recruit Corps member applicants and increase awareness of the NCCC mission. Primary duties include:

  • Participates in the design and execution of outreach efforts to maximize Corps member recruitment opportunities and to build increased awareness of NCCC mission.
  • Develops web-based solutions that communicate the National Civilian Community Corps mission and initiatives to the public.
  • Executes digital media tools to drive Corps Member recruitment efforts.
  • Participates in executing outreach efforts to secure and maintain the engagement of organizations supporting the NCCC mission.
  • Analyzes digital marketing statistics to determine trends and opportunities to optimize ad campaigns.
  • Tracks campaign performance to media benchmarks and goals.
  • Maintains knowledge of current trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Participates in the review and revision of the NCCC recruitment strategy, measures, and process evaluation.
  • Provides guidance to regional Community Relations Specialists concerning the crafting and execution of recruitment initiatives.
  • Plans and participates in the production of Webinars and other recruitment and engagement tools.
  • Conceptualizes, creates and maintains digital marketing materials geared to the recruitment of Corps members.
  • Prepares reports, briefing and presentation materials, and other documents utilizing a range of software programs with a particular emphasis of Microsoft Office Suite. Contributes as a team member to the development, support and implementation of special initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the upper- range of the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-9 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience must include all of the following:

1) Experience requiring qualitative and quantitative digital marketing analytics including social media analytics; and
2) Experience digital campaigning, digital organizing and running digital ad campaigns on major social and digital platforms; and
3) Experience developing digital strategies and campaigns

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Such experience must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.
