Duties

Help
  • Serves as an Intelligence Subject Matter Expert for highly unique special operations targets of operational and intelligence interest to the command.
  • Applies expert knowledge of HUMINT, SIGINT, IMINT, MASINT, IO, related analysis and signal processing to investigate and develop new techniques.
  • Serves as All Source Intelligence Analyst responsible for detailed, multi-disciplined intelligence analysis.
  • Coordinates analytical recommendations to meet consumer requirement and established updated procedures of analysis to deal with specific intelligence system problems.
  • Conducts in-depth research and analysis using various intelligence data systems, databases and repositories.
  • Prepares analysis planning to close intelligence systems infrastructure gaps and create efficient joint environments to identify and neutralize our nation's security threat.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Requires temporary duty travel (TDY) or business travel 30% of the time to various CONUS and OCONUS locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships, and vehicles.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Deployable ? a pre-employment physical is required, and annually thereafter.
  • Must be able to deploy to support organizational mission objectives. Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of the assigned duty station (50 miles).
  • Must be willing to submit to Counterintelligence Polygraph if required.
  • May be required to apply for Staff Like Access (SLA) certification.
  • Position is designated ?Mission Essential?. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • Position is designated Emergency Essential (EE). EE Civilians are required to sign a DoD Form 2365.
  • Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action.
  • Specific training and immunization requirements as appropriate for OCONUS deployments.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
  1. Experience abstracting data from multiple and/or specific sources for analysis. AND
  2. Experience producing finished intelligence analyses, reports and/or briefings. AND
  3. Experience analyzing all source intelligence information to make independent determination as to the significance of threat information.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled.This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.

EMERGENCY ESSENTIAL: This position is considered essential to support Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. It is considered emergency essential because (1) no qualified and immediate replacement exists and (2) having it vacant would (a) impair the effective operation of essential military support systems or (b) adversely impact the combat mission of deployed forces. Failure to remain in this position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service (5 USC, Ch.752). Incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises and training (Basic first aid; Basic soldier field survival skills; Laws of War/Geneva Conventions; Prisoner of War coping skills; Standards of Conduct; Proper wear, use and care of all issued clothing and equipment; Uniform Code of Military Justice; Customs and courtesies of host country; Sidearm training, when appropriate). Incumbent must meet requirements specified on SF78, Certificate of Medical Examination, for position at overseas/deployed location and receive immunizations appropriate to the overseas location. Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action.
