Help

As an Information Technology Auditor you will serve as the TeamMate Expert for the OIG. You will perform complex audits, reviews, evaluations, and planning for audits. You will manage and coordinate the systematic examination on a nationwide basis, of financial records, reports, management controls, policies, and practices affecting the financial condition of operations.

You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Time-in-grade restrictions must also be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of service equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position.

Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a 1-year probationary period.

Upon reporting, and on an annual basis thereafter, you will be required to file a financial statement and/or a procurement integrity certification. These certifications may be subject to public disclosure.

This position requires a security clearance and is subject to drug testing. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. Failure to pass subsequent tests could result in disciplinary action, up to and including removal from the Federal service.

Qualifications

In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level. Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.

At the GS-14 level the applicant must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-13. Specialized experience includes experience working with TeamMate Audit Management System, independently conducting technology audits, preparing audit reports, and providing direction and technical guidance to auditors.

The successful applicant for this position will possess the following KSAs/competencies: (Applicants need not prepare written responses to these KSAs, unless asked in the online application.)

  • Ability to perform integrated analyses of policies, procedures and transactions to identify conditions, causes and logical solutions using computer assisted audit techniques or other automated processes to retrieve and analyze data.
  • Ability to evaluate general and application controls related to information technology equipment, operating and application software.
  • Ability to provide direction and guidance to auditors on the conduct of complex performance and/or financial-related audits.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Education



Qualified candidates must meet one of the following:

1. Degree in accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR

2.At least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.

Education completed in foreign colleges and universities may be used if the institution has been accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education (PROVIDING SUCH EVIDENCE WHEN APPLYING IS YOU’RE RESONSIBILITY).
