WHO MAY APPLY: All qualified permanent and indefinite Title 5 National Guard employees who are currently working for the Directorate of Information located in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Monitors the network management system for the state’s wide area command and control/distributed training network to troubleshoot the immediate and geographically dispersed local and wide area networks.
Serves as the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COR) in the review and acceptance of network systems contractual work.
Acts as the project lead on special projects related to the interrelationships of multiple C4 disciplines (voice, data and video).
Re-engineers products to correct malfunctions and/or enhance performance.
Serves as a project manager during the implementation of C4 projects.
Performs project management on all network modifications (voice, video and data), architecture and enhancements.
Manages projects approved for implementation, which include network consolidation and/or growth.
Provides input into annual performance appraisals.
Provides input to the supervisor concerning selections, promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance.
Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination.

Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140 or DOD 8570.01M for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level within 9 months of employment pending training seat availability.
Qualifications
GS-12 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates your ability to performs duties as a technical coordinator or technical specialist on issues relating to the Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) systems and their integration with the network. The specialized experience must also indicate your ability to diagnose and correct complex system faults based on data provided by remote systems monitoring tools; resolve problems affecting multiple users of a large network; assess situations complicated by conflicting requirements which must be analyzed to determine the applicability of established methods; identify, analyze and recommend new requirements and changes to current network systems; and install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair new and existing network information systems, network peripherals and devices.
Must currently possess Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Proof of certification must be included with application packet.
DOD Information Awareness Certification Requirements:
The employee must obtain and maintain at a minimum a Secret security clearance.
Incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain certifications per DoD Directive 8570.1-M, AR 25-2, and as detailed in the Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification Best Business Practice (BBP). Failure to satisfactorily obtain and maintain required certifications in accordance with the listed publications are grounds for termination.
Selectee is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 1 dated 15 May 2008).
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EXPERIENCE: Must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
