Summary

This position is located in the National Finance Center, Office of the Director, Administrative Management Staff (AMS), Security and Planning Office (SPO), Physical Security Team (PST).

Incumbent is responsible for establishing and enforcing physical security measures designed to safeguarding personnel and to prevent unauthorized access to facilities, equipment and documentation.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Specialized Experience GS-11: Have at least one (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal Service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector/pay systems that equipped me with the competencies to successfully perform as a Physical Security Specialist. Such experience includes: 1) Knowledge in the enforcement of physical security measures designed to safeguard personnel and to prevent unauthorized access to facilities, equipment, and documents; 2) Experience in supporting security training, briefings and written reports to customer base and leadership; 3) Assist in providing technical assistance to personnel to resolve physical security issues; 4) Experience using the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201, Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), etc. to ensure activity in issuing credentials are compliant with rules and regulations; and 5) Ability to resolve a variety of conventional security problems, questions, or situations, such as those where responsibility has been assigned for monitoring established security systems or performing independent reviews and recommending actions involving well-established criteria, methods, techniques, and procedures.

Time in grade: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-inĀ­-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have on year of specialized experience at the next lower grade to be considered for the higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-09 grade level for consideration for the GS-11 grade level). This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

This is a developmental position leading to the full performance level Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-12.

This position requires incumbent to obtain a Secret Clearance.
This position may be eligible to telework up to four hours per week, based upon the duties of the position. This position may be eligible for flexible work arrangements as determined by agency policy and any applicable collective bargaining agreements.
