The Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP) recruits college students and recent graduates with disabilities for a talent database that federal managers use to hire for internships or permanent jobs. Your application and resume will be available to employers for one year through the WRP Talent Program.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial period with the selecting agency.

Qualifications

To qualify for participation in the Workforce Recruitment Program Talent Program, applicants must be eligible for appointment under the Schedule A hiring authority for persons with disabilities. Applicants must also be a current, full-time undergraduate or graduate student or a recent graduate with a postsecondary degree conferred on or after April 1, 2023 from an accredited educational institution.

Applicants must be aware that participating in the Workforce Recruitment Program DOES NOT guarantee selection for employment and is only a method to be considered for employment. Applicants must submit all documents listed in the "Required Documents" section below.

Education

Current, full-time undergraduate or graduate students with disabilities, and recent graduates who received a postsecondary degree (associate, bachelor, master, professional, doctorate) on or after April 1, 2023 from a U.S. accredited college or university, are eligible to apply for WRP in fall 2025. Students can be taking a part-time course load if it is due to a disability or because it is their final term/semester.

Exceptions may be made for veterans, if, due to military service obligations, they were unable to apply to the WRP as a recent graduate. Veterans interested in applying under this extension must contact WRP@dol.gov.

Contact WRP@dol.gov for questions about eligibility. Search the Department of Education's Database of Accredited Postsecondary Institutions and Programs to determine if your college or institution qualifies.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

To determine if you are qualified for the Workforce Recruitment Program Talent Program, a review of your supporting documentation will be made. If eligibility is confirmed, you will receive an email invitation by early November to join the WRP Talent Program.

Once in the Talent Program, hiring officials and federal employers looking to fill positions using Schedule A may be provided with applicant information kept in this file based on the qualifications for the position being filled. These qualifications will be based on the position as well as the information contained in the verification of Schedule A eligibility and answers to the questionnaire.
