Area 1:
All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel, assigned to the 103d LRS of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel, assigned to the 103d LRS and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Air National Guard.

This is a indefinite position that may convert to permanent without further competition.

JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to respond to customer logistics concerns and proactively anticipates problems that could stand in the way of wing units fulfilling mission requirements. Responsible for interfacing with Global Logistics Support Center (GLSC); conducts document control functions, demand processing, research and base level records maintenance, base level stock control functions, bench stock management, and customer feedback; troubleshoots all materiel management concerns; manages and issues SATS smart cards and manages the Zero Overpricing Program. Responsible for coordinating Base-Level Supply Customer Training as it pertains to Block training. Training is provided by the resident experts within the specific elements.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.

The major duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages the unserviceable asset listing and awaits for disposition instructions from the Air Logistic Centers and Item Managers, etc.
  • Responsible for audit and control of all accountable supplies and equipment documentation.
  • Performs base level Records Maintenance functions.
  • Performs MICAP verification, report and process cannibalization actions for non-maintenance customers.
  • For non-maintenance customers; establishes, maintains and deletes bench stocks in coordination with supported activities.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or decisions concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 12 months of specialized experience in the following:

  • Experience, education or training which demonstrates knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.
  • Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for routine supply transactions and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment and parts.
  • Experience performing routine aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignment include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment.
  • Knowledge to conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for required information for complex supply transactions.
  • Knowledge to reconstruct records for supply transactions and provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts to supported organizations' missions.
  • Knowledge of requisitions, supporting documents, and reference material to ensure supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations requiring special handling.
  • Ability to work well with customers and other offices on program requirements for urgent, critical shortage, and other special items.
  • Ability to prepare requests for cataloging action and to prepare documentation to effect additions, deletions, and changes to items authorized.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of AFSC. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Additional information

Primary Change of Station (PCS) relocation expenses will NOT be paid.

For M-Day/Traditional personnel who are currently receiving incentives to include Bonuses and the Student Loan Repayment Program, the following termination rule applies:

Incentive Termination without Recoupment: If you accept a Military Technician (Mil Tech) Permanent position where membership in the National Guard is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated with no recoupment as long as you have served at least 6 months of the bonus contract following receipt of the initial bonus payment.
