Duties

Help

As a POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEM MECHANIC-TITLE 32, WG-5378-10, you will responsible for the Ground Support Equipment maintenance program, inventory control, and the identification and scheduling of preventive maintenance requirements for ground support equipment. Troubleshoot deficiencies and repair flight critical equipment including lifting devices, turbine powered generators, towing devices and auxiliary power units. Troubleshoot, repair, service, perform modifications on, and operate powered ground support equipment. Troubleshoot equipment and determine the extent of repairs as well as the parts required. Perform required preventive maintenance and servicing of equipment. Keep equipment clean and free from dirt, oil, grease and corrosion. Periodically observe the operation of equipment to detect problems. Maintain records and equipment log books. Perform major system component overhaul, rebuild, repair, replacement and troubleshooting as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience performing mechanical maintenance work. Experience reading and using technical manuals, illustrations, diagrams and schematics. Experience using equipment and hand tools for troubleshooting, testing and repairing equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 18 months experience removing, adjusting, replacing, cleaning, and installing parts, components, and accessories. Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic theory applying to powered support equipment and systems. Experience replacing, fitting, installing, and making adjustments. Experience with the makeup and operation of the various individual systems maintained and their interrelationships. Experience reading and interpreting parts lists, manufactures' repair manuals, diagrams, and electrical schematics.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must have complete dates (Example 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981 or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981), work schedule, and hours worked per week of employment.
