Duties

Help
  • Enter financial data into automated financial accounting system, includes travel, payroll, and charge cards for employees.
  • Assist managers, supervisors, employees, volunteers and customers with administrative functions and support; answer telephones, greet customers; present administrative training.
  • Review and perform technical audits of financial transactions. Conduct training. Identify ways to improve administrative processes based on policy limitations. Develop Standard Operation Procedures and training materials.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment using simplified acquisition procedures through the DOI integrated charge card program.
  • Serve as collections officer. Prepare appropriate receipts, records, and tracking forms. Reconcile accounts receivable, aging analysis reports, and suspense and unearned accounts.

Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: reception work, timekeeping, travel, filing, and typing correspondence. -OR-
Education: Have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study above high school. This education was obtained in an accredited business, secretarial, or technical school, junior college, college, or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. - OR-
Combination of Education and Experience:
You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate undergraduate education.

GS-6 - Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: providing customer service, processing payroll and travel documents, records management, instructing others in administrative procedures, and editing correspondence.
