Duties

Help


1. inspects and performs a variety of repair and maintenance tasks on all assigned fitness,
cardiovascular, weightlifting, and other related equipment at the, Luke AFB Fitness Centers to
include annex. Establishes periodic maintenance schedules and performs the full repair cycle
of locating trouble, disassembly, repair, testing, reassembly, cleaning, lubricating, and
adjustments according to established schedule and manufacturer's recommendations. Repairs or
replaces treadmill decks and belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, bushings, pulleys, springs and
cables on various machines as required. May replace lights on scoreboards.
2. Performs daily inspection and identifies problems of irregularities on equipment. Refers to
warranties and takes appropriate corrective action or documents findings for future reference and
repairs. Performs major repairs during non-peak hours or after normal operating hours. Ensures
that machine down time is minimized. May sand, repaint, or touch up equipment to maintain it in
"Like new" condition. utilizes machines diagrams, schematics, and equipment instruction booklets
3. Responsible for preparing and submitting supply order forms for replacement parts and bench
stock. Maintains files and records as required or directed. Contacts manufacture when complex or
unusual repairs are necessary. Notifies supervisor of significant problems or unexpected delays.
4. Assists in the evaluation, set-up, and testing of all new fitness and recreational equipment.
5. Alternate building custodian. Directed at preventative maintenance to prolong the life of
Furniture, fixture, equipment and minimize breakdown thorough inspections (checklist) and minor
corrections, provides routine maintenance or recurring and
general upkeep, which is normally outside base civil engineering work request. Responsible in
tracking base civil engineering work orders for contractual and maintenance work, to include ground
maintenance. Maintains all relative records IAW AF file
record Management.
6. All maintenance schedules are developed on the basis of manuals, preventive maintenance
instructions, occupancy statistics, seasonal data, budget restrictions, and capital requirements.
Schedule's and accomplishes repairs to minimize inconvenience and to maximize quality of service.

7. Serves as an alternate safety and Hazmat monitor; and performs other related duties assigned

Qualifying Experience:
You must have practical work experience or knowledge which demonstrates the ability to satisfactorily perform the duties of this position. Must have working knowledge of the design, basic principles, and operating characteristics of variety of fitness and related equipment. Must be familiar or able to interpret wiring diagrams, specifications and schematics, as well as a variety of electrical and mechanical parts. Must possess manual skill in the use of hand power tools.




Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
