Duties

Help

As a PROGRAM ANALYST, GS-0343-09, you will develop sampling plans and procedures for validating unit/activity accountability and inventory certifications. Apply statistical analysis techniques to measure progress, efficiency, and trends impacting the effectiveness of the organization to meet the organizational goals and objectives. Develops processes, management, administrative, and technical evaluation plans for implementation by supervisors/managers. Notes deficiencies, identifies necessary resources, and recommends corrective action. Responsible for on the spot corrective assistance and guidance to unit/activity personnel during the conduct of the evaluation/review. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
  • Extensive travel may be required to perform duties throughout the state.
  • May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments.
  • Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
  • Proficient in logistics standard army management information system (STAMIS).
  • This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for, or in response to, a state emergency or disaster declaration.
  • For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver’s license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, training, or knowledge in work that involves developing, analyzing, evaluating, advising, or improving the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, organizations, manpower utilization, distribution of work assignments, management controls, and similar functions of management.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 24 months or 1-year at the next lower GS level experience, education, or training in administrative, professional, investigative, technical, or other responsible work which demonstrates analytical ability and a practical and theoretical knowledge of the functions, processes, and principles of management; knowledge of the National Guard organizational structures, functions, procedures, and techniques; experience using computer and automation systems.
