Duties

Help
  • Provides technical, musical instruction of a Collegiate Glee Club to include training to perform on national and regional venues. Auditions and selects members for the Glee Club.
  • Provides group and individual instruction to the members of the Glee Club. Assumes musical responsibility for Glee Club appearance. Prepares music and special arrangements to be presented based upon available material and special requirements.
  • Receives and evaluates all inquiries for Glee Club performances, booking performances and developing performance projects and the calendar. Schedules trips for Glee Club and coordinates resourcing travel and equipment requirements.
  • Plans, coordinates and supervises the periodic production of the Glee Club recordings. Develops and maintains relationships with essential personnel within the collegiate organization as well as external collegiate and non-collegiate organizations.
  • Develops opportunities to provide exposure of Glee Club at both collegiate and other venues and locations. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Qualifications

Qualification Requirements:

1. Undergraduate or Graduate education; Major study (24 semester hours) in music.

This education must be reflected on your resume and your degree/transcript uploaded at the time of application to be considered eligible for this position.

OR

2. Specialized experience that demonstrated the ability to:

  • Produce, stage, conduct, or direct musical productions, concerts, recitals, festivals, clinics, workshops, or other musical events.
  • Instruct or perform in one or more of the musical arts such as (1) composing, arranging, or orchestrating music, (2) interpreting classical, modern, ethnic, or cultural dance forms, (3) choreography and notation, or (4) interpreting vocal or instrumental music.

This experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position.

HIGHLY PREFERRED are applicants who possess the minimum qualifications above AND all of the following:

1. Possession of a master's degree in music
2. Training and teaching experience in choral/vocal music.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
