Area 1B - All current federal employees/technicians within Kentucky Air National Guard (T32 and T5, with permanent, conditional, or indefinite tenure with current Kentucky Air National Guard membership)
-AND-
Area 2B - All current Kentucky Air National Guard members
-AND-
Area 3B - All qualified service members from a branch of the US Armed Forces eligible and willing to transfer to the Kentucky Air National Guard
As a AIRCRAFT ENGINE MECHANIC - TITLE 32, WG-8602-10, you will remove, install, certify, repair, modify, overhaul, and install turboprop engines, reduction gear boxes, turbine modules, compressor modules, auxiliary power units, propellers and components. Perform maintenance on propulsion systems including repairs and overhauls. Diagnose malfunctions using computerized test equipment, schematic diagrams, and technical publications. Perform repairs according to the test results and analysis. Modify engines, propellers, auxiliary power units, and components in accordance with Time Compliance Technical Orders directives; remove and install engine quick change kits; prepare engines for installation and install engine and propeller assemblies on aircraft. Perform operational checks of installed propellers, engines, auxiliary power units and sub-systems during aircraft maintenance ground runs. Perform evaluations on engines, propellers and auxiliary power units. Interpret certification findings and determine adequacy of corrective action. Perform aircraft full power runs and complete engine and propeller efficiency checks. Prepare man-hour data collection and required forms for input. Maintain bench stock, parts, and equipment. Provide training for personnel. Advise supervisor of the experience and skill levels of personnel. Prepare for and participates in evaluations, inspections, and exercises. Perform other duties as assigned.

RANK REQUIREMENT:
Member must provide in writing with their application package that they are willing to accept a reduction in rank in order to be qualified for this position, if applicable. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience that has provided the ability to perform assembly and disassembly operations and make prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories in accordance with technical specifications, procedures and requirements. Experience using hand and power tools common to the trade.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have experience performing standard, routine assembly and disassembly operations and making prescribed modifications to aircraft engines, engine assemblies, and accessories. Experience performing maintenance overhaul, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of aircraft engines, engine components, and power trains for fixed and/or rotary wing aircraft. Experience determining maintenance needed from work orders, inspection reports, historical record, and by own diagnosis.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
