About the position: This position will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Fall Hall on F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming.

Duties

Help

PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Moderately heavy physical effort is required in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and in pushing heavy furniture, loading carts, etc. Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds and frequently pushes heavy objects such as furniture on dollies and loaded carts.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from tracks, dollies, etc.
  • Moving heavy boxes, cartons, or luggage by hand, hand truck, or dolly.
  • Opens crates and boxes using crowbars, and cuts bands using shears.
  • Stacks boxes and cartons where directed.
  • Operates hand tools and simple power equipment such as hand or powered (domestic type) lawnmowers, walking-type power mowers, handsaws, hatchets, and clippers to perform tasks such as mowing lawns, clearing small trees and bushes, and removing snow or ice.
  • Using tools, such as a shovel, digs ditches and trenches where a pick is not needed to loosen the dirt, and where grading and sloping is not required; fills holes with dirt, leveling bumps and low places using shovel, hand tamper, and rake.
  • Performs a variety of manual tasks such as moving, arranging, collecting, and cleaning equipment and materials.
  • Moves and arranges furniture, as directed.
  • Shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or power buffer, may collect and empty garbage cans, or burn garbage and trash.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation (Tier 1 Level) with favorable results.
  • This position has a physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Manual skill, knowledge, and ability to use, control, and clean common hand tools and simple power equipment such as powered push lawnmowers, leaf blowers, weed trimmers and low-pressure sprayers.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools such as handsaws, hatchets, and clippers.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.



Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

  • Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
