Duties

Help
  • Cleans rooms, restrooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment.
  • Performs routine maintenance on all cleaning equipment. Cleans disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas. Empties trash.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and deodorizes toilet facilities. Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt.
  • Moves heavy furniture. Maintains stock of janitor's room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to push and pull items on carts weighing up to 20-40 pounds, and occasionally weighing over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Work involves exposure to dirt, disagreeable odors, vibration from use of heavy equipment, and skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions.
  • Must be able to work during the hours of operations to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR215-3, 2-13i to include a National Agency Check (NACI).

Qualification Requirements are:

  • Prior work experience that provided the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties listed above to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
