This ND National Guard position is for a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2224P01 and is part of the ND 119 Civil Engineering Squadron, National Guard.
Summary
THIS IS A NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This ND National Guard position is for a EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D2224P01 and is part of the ND 119 Civil Engineering Squadron, National Guard.
As a Emergency Management Specialist, the primary purpose of this position is to execute the Emergency Management (EM), Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN), and Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) emergency response, logistics, and training programs. The position develops, manages, and executes the EM programs, ensuring all military, civilian and contract personnel are trained and equipped to support home station and worldwide contingency operations.
Assists in the development and coordination of plans and procedures for implementation
Collaborates with on and off-base units and agencies, on EM programs, policies, and procedures. and execution of the Installation Emergency Management Plan (IEMP 10-2).
Assists in conducting initial/recurring training for functional areas of EM.
Maintains Emergency Management response equipment, training resources, and supply inventories.

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the ND National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must haveone year of specialized experience at the GS-7 grade level or civilian equivalent which includes: 1) Skilled in preparing and briefing emergency management plans; 2) Knowledgeable in personnel activations and deployments; and 3) knowledge of emergency management and related directives, policies, regulations, procedures, and methods.
OR
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field related to the position.
OR
2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a degree in a field related to the position
