Duties

Help

  • Assist the ODR Management team in the maintenance of off-site facilities and equipment
  • Perform the full range of personnel management responsibilities
  • Ensures all AFIs and OIs are met pertaining to facility management
  • Acts as Facility Manager, HAZMAT program manager, Boat Operator Examiner, and Weapons Custodian
  • Tests all ODR equipment for safe operations, demonstrates safety and conversation techniques for ODR staff on campsites, water sports area, firing ranges (including paint ball) and winter sporting equipment
  • Demonstrates equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as paint ball, skeet & trap, skiing/snowboarding, and boating for ODR staff training
  • Accounts for recreation equipment and assets (items include paint ball accessories, skeet & trap equipment, winter sport gear, boats, bouldering wall, kayaks, canoes, and paddle boats)
  • Ensures the established safety system of recreation facilities, tools, and equipment are maintained
  • Takes inventory of recreation supplies and equipment
  • Inspects facilities and equipment for security and general conditions, oversees the functions and proper use of Government vehicles
  • Makes repairs as needed on equipment and facilities, while referring more difficult repairs to professionals
  • Responsible for submitting all work orders and tracking status on all ODR properties
  • Responsible for following ODRs strict key log program
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Must be able to work an uncommon tour of duty (evening, weekends, and holidays)

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  • Must have practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned.
  • Must have supervisory experience.
  • Must communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Must have on the job experience with facility maintenance and/or ODR specific equipment maintenance.
  • A knowledge of local and host nation laws and regulations regarding transportation, wildlife, firearms, boating, recreational permits, and licensing is highly desirable.
  • Must have knowledge or on the job training H-VAC equipment and machinery equipment maintenance.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background check.
