Help

Data Request Management

  • Establishes and maintains a system for receiving and categorizing data requests based on urgency and relevance to ensure requests are completed in a timely manner.
  • Gathers and cleans data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze the frequency of data requests and use cases to develop standard data products and reduce data request volume.
Report and Dashboard Development
  • Develops performant Power BI data structures (e.g., datasets and dataflows) using M Query and DAX to enable the development of interactive visualizations.
  • Develops intuitive and interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that help users make better decisions.
  • Develops and executes testing protocols throughout the entire data product development process, including functional, regression, and release testing to ensure data products meet quality standards.
Agile Data Project Management
  • Establishes priorities and assigns and reviews the work of others in Agile teams to ensure the team is engaged and work progresses.
  • Develops and monitors a backlog of features and user stories to ensure the development team is consistently engaged in meaningful work that advances agency customer and program priorities.
  • Leads human-centered design activities with stakeholders (e.g., ideation sessions, user interviews, user-centered research) to better understand user behavior and needs and inform data product development activities.
Research and Analysis
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to identify research and business questions for further inquiry.
  • Applies statistical techniques to generate insights and develop recommendations from the data.
  • Communicates and presents data analysis results, orally and in-writing, to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Requirement for the GS-13 Grade Level: You must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience for this position must have included ALL the following:

1) Using programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) to collect, structure, and analyze federal human capital data; AND
2) Developing interactive reports or dashboards using business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau); AND
3) Developing data products (e.g., reports, datasets) in response to inquiries from multiple sources.

You must include evidence of this specialized experience in your resume, including the dates of experience (month/year), to be considered qualified for this position.

Applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level.
